District 9 tournament will be held in Fountain, Colorado,
October 10th and 11th. Beginning at 9 A.M. each day and ending at around 6
PM the first day and until we finish on the second day. 4 rounds the first
day and 3 rounds the second day. This will be 3-move and gayp, with Eric
Strange and Bob Murr as directors. It will be held at the Fountain Library in
a very nice room. I am still working with hotels to get a group rate and I
will update this post when I finish. I welcome everyone to the
tournament even if your not in district 9, it would be nice to see you
there. You can get more information on this tournament as details are
established.

- Congratulations to Eric Strange for winning District 9 Ty, Women's Champion -
Laurie Strange, Minors Champ - Ryan Fridmanis, and Youth Champ - Conrad Cardie.
- We had a poor turnout for the district 9 tournament on the count of bad
weather but everyone still had a lot of fun. John Cardie even got into an
accident on the drive up but still made it.

We split the tournament into 2 divisions, master and minors. Minors played
gayp and masters played 3-move using round robin for both groups.
-
For the Minors we had a 3 way tie between all parties ending at 2 losses and
2 draws for each person involved.
-
For the masters we had some great games unfortunately John Cardie had to
leave early which added in some byes.
- Unfortunately Colton Cardie didn't compete
because he had prior engagements and couldn't make it, but his
little brother Conrad is showing some great potential.
- Thanks to
everyone who was able to make it to the tournament and those of you who tried
and got stopped by the horrible ice storm.
